Milan won the mda of plastics
Plast´97 was held from 5 to 10 may in Milan
Milan won the fashion of plastics
In the field of injection most have "not special" machines for two components
Included in the list of Euromap (Committee European of manufacturers of machines for plastics and rubbers) of recommended fairs, the Plast in Milan is collecting the fruits of its efforts to internationalize it more and more. With a character oriented equipment for transformation, which responds to the industrial reality of Italy, and a more testimonial presence of resins and raw materials producers, Plast´97 had for the first time the presence of Imapcthat he went to the meeting with a number of Spanish companies.
On Monday May 5 he began the great event for the Italian sector and for companies with an international vocation. Milan noticed. From 6 in the afternoon, the famous Duomo and all its surroundings saw pass more ties than normal. It was breathing atmosphere of fair in Milan. The metro crowded at peak times, crowded restaurants, the hotels without free rooms and up to the most remote of the streets advertising the Salone Internacionale delle Materie Plastiche e della rubber. For six days, this European city was, without doubt, the European capital of the fashion of plastics.
More than 67,000 visitors came to the Plast´97 to get the day of the offer of the sector, discover some interesting novelty among the many teams that were there or make hardly feasible contacts without the existence of such events. And since then, opportunities to do so are not missed. The exhibition area was 63.547 square meters, which, according to its organizers, puts this fair in the second place in the world, also by the number of these stands. In total they exhibited their products 1511 exhibitors (direct 1,105 and represented 406). And a curious fact: according to sources from the own fair, neither more nor less than approximately 3,000 machines and equipment swarmed the exhibiting surface of the Milan fair.
The truth is that the internationality of this eleventh edition is not an argument of Enfiplast, the Organizer, but a feature that is demonstrated by figures. Approximately one third of the visitors, exactly 22.360, came from abroad, an increase of almost 4 percent from the last edition of 1994. Interestingly, the number of Italian visitors fell 2.5 percent from 1994, registering an increase of 19 percent of foreign visitors on the other hand. The latter came to Milan from 100 countries, mainly from Europe, but also in Latin America (14% of foreigners), Middle East, Asia, Africa, North America and Oceania.
To these figures, Assocomaplast (Association of Italian manufacturers of machines and moulds for plastic materials and rubber) which depends on Enfiplast, and Euromap, the sponsors of the fair, were very satisfied of the results of the Hall at the end of the same.
Italy, satisfied with the plastics industry
From the point of view of production and export of machines and moulds Italian, 1996 was a good year. In fact, Italy is in second place European and compete even with Japan. The value of production in the past year was 3.6 billion dollars, compared to 3.130 million in 1995.
In addition, according to data from Assocomaplast, the balance of foreign trade in the Italian sector is positive. Its exports reached a value of $ 2.5 billion, in addition to being a 27% higher than the previous year, representing a significant increase in the trade balance. Export index went from 61% to 68%.
However, it also should be noted that the Italian sector of plastics imported in volumes of more than the previous year, amounting to us $ 500 million.
On the other hand, to the good relationship import/export, the situation in the sector of the plastics in 1996 not gave rise to much optimism. Apparent consumption was low and the orders were decreasing as the year progressed.
Presence of Spanish companies
If something can highlight of this year's Edition from the point of view of the Spanish market is that, for the first time Imapc (Spanish Association of manufacturers of machinery for plastics and rubber) attended the exhibition Italian with a group of companies. In the words of July Mohedano, director of the Association "traditionally, this is a fair that not was coming on this occasion." From Imapc we have encouraged companies to go because here is the clientele that interests us. Does not necessarily mean that Spanish companies that want to sell in Italy, but that we take the people that this Hall brings to access them and thus open new doors to export"."
