Interview with Joaquín Rabinad, Ferromatik Milacron
Many returned from the K with the idea that was a good show. It breathed some optimism in the sector, filled aisles, many contacts and even sales, do you think that the sector in Spain will recover soon? Do you think that the problem of financing is one of the main right now or the problem lies elsewhere?
Companies can not stop invest and modernize its production means and seek new markets to adapt to the new situation. This now requires a greater effort due to the current situation.
These companies may move forward only with official aid. The delay of this aid is causing companies which have cost years and much effort to reach European level of technology, now opt for the closure as the only alternative, with the loss of numerous jobs.
Do you think that there are some industrial segment that will be the to lead the improvement of the sector of injection in Spain?
There are segments that are better supporting the new situation and even making new investments. But the car, its decline, still remains the engine of the plastic injection.
If easy pieces no longer is it can compete with cheaper countries, what it should do the Spanish inyectador? Further automation of processes? More integration of functions?
Injection companies need to look for pieces with added value out of the conventional. Adapt to new markets requires new investments. Many have chosen to adapt or automate their means of production due to lack of funding, an effort of ingenuity, to survive.
