Interview with Damian Hernández, Wittmann Battenfeld
Many returned from the K with the idea that was a good show. It breathed some optimism in the sector, filled aisles, many contacts and even sales, do you think that the sector in Spain will recover soon? Do you think that the problem of financing is one of the main right now or the problem lies elsewhere?
Unfortunately for all those who try to work for an expected improvement in the situation, we think that this current situation is very complicated, and will not be possible to come out as easily as we would like. The sum of various factors, that everyone will know, has led to this very complicated time, especially for the industry. We assume that little by little the problems will be disappearing or softening, but drawing a hopeful future in the medium term is quite risky, so for now is better adapted to the market, however difficult it may seem.
It is true that in the last (K) breathing air of optimism, but these winds not coming from the Iberian Peninsula, rather were air currents internal, that revolve by the Germanic lands and their nearest influences, because really this Yes is a market with more than remarkable signs of recovery and growth.
The problem of financing in our country is a serious and possibly one of the most notable negative factors, but unfortunately the reforms under the current system and the proposals to transfer the wall are improvised in any way and they do not delude the market. The funding problem is certainly one of the most serious, but in our opinion, it is not the main one, because that may affect some economic and political decisions related to globalization.
Do you think that there are some industrial segment that will be the to lead the improvement of the sector of injection in Spain?
There are several sectors and subsectors, according to recent studies, can cope with this protracted situation as the sector of packaging, packaging and, at specific moments, of the automotive industry. But perhaps leadership for improvement comes from the hand of strong companies that bet for our market, installing high-value technologies, able to compete in a globalized world.
There are few entrepreneurs with strength which most struggle to emerge from this crisis, but is sadly the majors who have the frying pan by the handle and enough leverage in the political economic, able to change the current course.
If easy pieces no longer is it can compete with cheaper countries, what it should do the Spanish inyectador? Further automation of processes? More integration of functions?
The current industry must modernize, adapting to the tough times with imagination, courage and dynamism. Taking advantage of our great experience in the field of automation, we can ensure that more solvent companies, with more resources, resources, and future, are those who have managed to position itself in this competitive market, with modern automation plans. Spain can obviously not only think about injecting, must present their best products to customers, a price and a quality that allows you to fight with other more aggressive markets. And this sometimes can be done automating their processes to the maximum, i.e. well render their investments or adapting them to compete.
