Siemens plm Software participated in the strategic session organized by IDC ' towards a rail sector of quality: new open expectations for IRIS with rules and innovation as the engine of permanent evolution ', which took place in the Casa de America in Madrid.
Organized by IDC, the sessions were developed under the objective of sharing the vision of the attendees on new challenges for the rail sector in the current economic environment.
Currently, 65 companies worldwide already have implemented the standard IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard), developed by the Association of European railway industries, UNIFE, to improve the quality of companies involved in the rail industry. This calls for the development and implementation of a common system for the evaluation of the system of quality management of enterprises operating in the rail sector, which is valued for the final product to comply with the security measures laid downmaking a good management of each project in turn. In the event, several experts tried to fundamental questions about the implementation of the IRIS with rules and leading-edge trends in rail innovation. In particular, Christophe Mazeaud, Business Consultant for Siemens PLM Software, held a Conference on the PLM platform from Siemens which accelerates to IRIS certification companies and participated in the Panel's final debate on the future of the rail industry.
In addition, in the event representatives of important companies of the sector, notably RENFE, Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona and the Spanish railway technological platform were also present.
