Kennametal will close its plant in Vitoria in the T 4th of 2009

Kennametal, company represented in Spain by Kenci, announced on 10 September the final closure of its factory in Vitoria, that concrete throughout the fourth quarter of 2009. The factory, in which 49 employees, is engaged in the production of cutting tools of metal, components and advanced materials used in production processes, and form part of a global company with facilities in more than 60 countries.
The reasons for this decision is directly related to the current market situation and the results of the feasibility studies that have produced negative results for the continuity of the Vitoria factory. According to the company, "these analysis reveal overproduction and structural overcapacity in the group, as well as prospects of persistence of falling demand and sales, especially related to the sectors of automotive and aeronautics, which are suffering the consequences of the current economic situation in a manner particularly charged with and that is" "he directed more than 70% of the production of the Alava plant."
From now on will develop a schedule of meetings with representatives of the workers to propose the best possible solution for the template.
