The latest development in inkjet technology

During the edition of the fair Fakuma 2002 held in Friedrichshafen in Germany, three companies belonging to the Group Cannon - Sandretto (Collegno, Italy), Windsor Kunststofftechnologie GMBH (Hanau, Germany) and automaton (Caronno Pertusella, Italy and Ried, Germany) presented their joint project in injection technology: Sandretto "series Nove Multi" (SNM). It is a complete injection multicomponent derived from the integration of the series system multicomponent Plug x Press of Windsor on the existing concept of standard injection Sandretto "Nove S series" machines.

To be successful in the market today, it is very important to be able to react quickly and effectively the requests of the client. The basis for this are a flexible production line. When injection units can make and test independently, only the need to mechanically connect the elements at any conceivable position on a conventional injection machine. This is effective and efficient and marks easily assimilable competitive advantages for the client. Injection units can alternatively change by units of other measures in the event that the customer need to change the line of products in production. The "Series Nove Multi" Sandretto offers customer the possibility of adapting its production capacity to the demand of the moment without having to invest increasingly in a new machine.

The Sandretto "Series Nove Multi" is characterized by its high flexibility and by the number of possible combinations of their units, as well as the possibility of choosing between a wide range of injection units. In addition each unit injection is freely programmable.

The second unit of injection machine multi-component "snm" is completely self-sufficient and can replace injection unit with a group more or less without any problem and with little effort.

The machine and the Group of injection are connected directly by a can-bus system. Wiring and connection has been done to simplify to the maximum installation.

Compared to the Sandretto "Series Nove BN" is limited to a maximum of two components with similar injection volumes, while the "Nove Multi series" can be fitted with 3 or more units of injection to produce parts with more than two components and if necessary, with different injection volumes.

In the "Nove BN series" two injection units are arranged side in a V position and the variation of this position is very limited. In the "SNM" the position of the group principal with respect to the machine nozzle, is only default while the position and the number of additional nozzles can be selected without restrictions. According to the demand of the customer, the design of the mould and the provision of space, second injection unit can position itself in various ways, horizontally, in an L-shaped, vertically or inclined on the main injector.

The parallel provision of more than one drive is also possible in any of the positions described above.

In the "Nove Multi series" injection units are free programming and in comparison with the "Nove BN series" injection units offer customer a greater range in the injection process.

This new range of machines offers with forces of closure from 1300 until 4,850 kN. The international group of main injection measurement ranges from Euromap 430 to 2,650 which corresponds to the spindles of diameter 33 mm to 80 mm. With regard to the measures of the additional injection groups range from Euromap 107 up to 430 respectively with screw diameters from 20 mm to 55 mm.

It also emphasises the SBS 2000 control unit and the modern system of consciously controlled energy consumption.

The result is the speed in the operation, accuracy and control of movements with a low power consumption and high flexibility.

The advanced control system specifically developed by automaton for injection machines is equipped with an operator interface based on PC, a powerful PLC and a number of remote nodes in control of injection and thermal sections. The operator interface works with synoptic screen, set-up of the machine, access controls, alarms control and interface for the control of production systems. The PLC operates jointly with remote nodes and is the heart of the system. This device is responsible for the control of the machine and its communications and collaborates with the operator interface properly distributing the tasks of operation.

The range of Sandretto "Series Nove Multi" is manufactured in close collaboration between Sandretto and Windsor and, according to the modules of the machines, Assembly is carried out either in Collegno and Hanau

The Sandretto series Nove Multi is the latest development of the PlugxPress concept of a self sufficient and flexible for a second group of injection system.
