New lattice concept for production in a single phase of PE pipes for peroxide
December 16, 2008
The cooperation project involves Crosslink Finland Oy's Finland, which produces reticulate units infrared; Hans Weber maschinenfabrik of Germany, which has developed some of the best extrusion double spindle machines that exist for this technology; the German company Inoex, which provides innovative dynamic units of mixing, dosing and control; Borealis, which has developed two new qualities of its BorPex range of lattices polyethylene of high molecular weight and high density, specially designed for this process of production; AkzoNobel, which provides the kind of appropriate peroxide; and Ciba provided by the additives.
PE-Xa pipes are used in the systems of distribution of domestic water and gas, district heating and other industrial applications that benefit from the resistance to high temperatures and chemicals, as well as its flexibilityhis enormous resistance to impact at low temperatures and its high resistance to the fluence.
Direct injection of peroxide ion
Generally, PE-Xa pipe manufacturers buy the polyethylene, peroxide and associated functional additives (antioxidants, stabilizers of UV, etc.) separately and mix them dry in process batch. The team of dosing and monitoring from Inoex, this can be done is now continuously, in line with the phases of extrusion and lattice.
The combination of static and dynamic mixing procedures in multicomponent Inoex Saveomat dosing station guarantees that the liquid and solid materials mix evenly. Part of this process is the system of integrated nozzles which inject peroxide during the mixing process to ensure that the granulate wet evenly.
Weber of double screw, high-performance extrusion machines
The extrusion of double screw machines have become the method of processing preferred for the production of PE-Xa pipes due to their ability to provide a higher mix and a certain homogeneity without overheating.
