Sicombus, information and Multimedia communication bus, system is a technological tool developed by the companies Proconsi and Icon Multimedia, which aims to inform and entertain passengers over the route of the bus in the Leonese capital. Among its varied possibilities can offer travelers useful information about the route: schedules, stops, travel, links to other lines and means of transport, together with news of last minute, tourist, weather information and events of all kinds that are developed in the city andincluding commercial information and advertising Geolocated, associated to each point of the journey.

Among other thing, Sicombus informs about all urban transport and their connections in the province capital.

Compared with other existing systems, Sicombus offers significant improvements and that the information presented relates to the geographical position, which allows to create more effective cultural dissemination or advertising content. The system is prepared to provide information about all urban transport and their regional connections that can get information about schedules, punctuality and incidents. The objective is to move towards a multi-modal public transport that provide advantages over private transport.

The information is updated in real time – contained no pre-recorded - despite being a mobile system. This allows providing the user up-to-date information of great interest such as the status of other services of transportation of the city, meteorology or breaking news.

Led by Proconsi, the development of Sicombus has counted on the collaboration of Icon Multimedia and more than 400,000 euros in r & d invested in it. The work of the development teams has allowed make important advances in systems of industrial computing for vehicles and techniques of anchors and protection systems in environments of public use. Also important are the development of software and applications-oriented management, by stop, cultural information displays and public address system; management of information, via audio with speech synthesis; the loudspeaker in MultiLanguage; information management of stops, estimated time and correspondences on monitors; system for detection and location of stop; or interface for the exchange of information between the various systems of information to the traveller of the different means of transport.

New technologies of Sicombus, among the automatic stops information system, without the need for implementation of the SAE (System of aid to exploitation); georeferencing or submission of information under GPS; communications in real time by radio frequency of next-generation high-definition graphics displays for public spaces; Multilanguage speech synthesis: automatic conversion of text in verbal and aural communication; distribution of content on the situation of mobility.

One of the objectives of Sicombus is to motivate the use of public transport changing its perception.

Each bus will have two screens TFT 19 "and high-gloss placed to allow the greatest number of passengers a comfortable vision possible. The contents are made up in the central control and program airing on each vehicle based on its geographic position, hour, day of week, etc. The system, that uses wireless data networks to maintain information in real time and distribute multimedia content, is prepared to provide information from other systems of public transport (Renfe, Feve, InterCity, Regional and national Bus, airport, etc.).

In the section on system hardware, in the development of Sicombus are manufactured industrial computers for vehicles with a specific modular design for maximum resistance for use in extreme conditions typical in such vehicles; latest generation GPS receivers that provide the accuracy required for the position on the route and the location of stops; monitors TFT 19 ", of high definition and high suited to the environment display brightness; teams prepared for adverse conditions of use: cold, heat and vibration.

With this project, developed with Spanish technology, surface public transport gets to the head in the supply of information services and business travelers. One of the primary objectives of Sicombus is to transform the perception that the society of public transport, encouraging their use and generating confidence among users, turning into an experience positive routine of millions of Spaniards.
