Engel manufactures the world's largest injection machine

With this development, Engel has surpassed all records. The duo 5500 can not only produce weights of injection of up to 140 kg. with its three units of injection, but which is also very economical since their extremely low energy consumption.
Three years ago, Engel received a special request; the development of an injection machine for a weight of injection up to 150 kg. The machine injection of 25 metres of length weighs a total of 585 tons, to which must be added the weight of the mold of 160 tonnes.
Because of its action, the machine had to be placed in a mass grave of two meters. These parameters make it the largest in the world of such injection machine. Specific energy consumption of 0.34 kg/kWh in production, this machine achieves a record of savings.
