Service engineers can examine indications of the alarms that have been produced and use additional functions of diagnosis to determine their causes. Programmes and contacts for controllers Power Mate diagrams can be stored in a flash memory card. These data can be read on a PC and make backup copies of them on external media such as a CD-ROM. Where necessary these data can be loaded again through portable memory card. Simple maintenance tasks can be also made to the controller without display or input module. The 7-segment LEDs and the integrated switch are sufficient to access the contents of the memory.

The integration of Power Mate i in industrial networks does not represent any problem. Ethernet, FL-net, DeviceNet, FANUC I/O Link, Profibus-DP and High Speed Serial Bus (HSSB) are available as bus systems.
