Siemens presents the new version of his platform D3 of aerogeneradores in Barcelona

In the annual European event for the industry, Ewea 2014, that celebrates of the 10 to 13 March in Barcelona, the Division of Wind Power of Siemens has presented how the innovations implemented of his aerogeneradores D3 of accionamiento direct (Direct Drive) reach greater performances and production of power. Siemens is advancing successfully in his strategy to reduce the costs of the wind power and improve the economic sustainability of this type of renewable power.

Under the lemma 'Watts up!', Siemens presents the new aerogenerador of 3,2 megavatios for terrestrial wind parks that, depending of the place of installation, can obtain an annual performance 3,5% elder that his previous model.

Siemens has optimised the capacity of electrical generation of his platform D3 improving the system of control of the turbine. The increase of this capacity puts of self-evident the importance of the design of the wind turbines without gears. According to Henrik Stiesdal, CTO of Siemens Wind Power during the presses conference of presentation in the fair: “one of the main aims of our work is to improve the innovation to evolve and take advantage of even more the technical potential of our products and solutions”.

Likewise, Siemens has created a Centre of Experts in his stand of 200 square metres that will have brief presentations about the engineering of wind turbines, technology of storage of power and the importance of the electrical systems for an efficient transmission.

During the fair Siemens, like co-sponsor of the fair and together with European Wind Power Association (Ewea), have realizar the exhibition 'Wind Challenge'. An interactive exhibition in which the visitors can experience the feeling of how generates the power from the wind by means of a simulator that measures the flow and power of the air.
