EOS (RMS Rapid Manufacturing): pieces of plastic without going through the mold in Equiplast 2005
EOS, represented by Victor Paluzie, of RMS Rapid Manufacturing, has parts that have been carried out using techniques of e-manufacturing, the faster and less expensive production directly from electronic data. It also shows various new materials to the sintered by laser, as the cromo-cobalto, stainless steel and titanium.
One of the applications that you can see is the use of the e-manufacturing to produce pieces for public telephones. The Austrian company uses the sintered by laser to produce the support from which hang public telephones. Model Shop Vienna received a Telekom Austria order to provide a total of 1,000 pieces of this type throughout a year. The initial order, however, was only 250 publishers, with the 750 remaining as an option.
In this situation, the e-manufacturing with polyamide loaded with aluminum, was detected as the more sensible process. On the one hand, it combines all the properties that the client demanded in regards to the metallic appearance and high rigidity. On the other hand, the sintered by laser allowed Model Shop Vienna react flexibly to the possible design changes that the client would like to add in the successive requests.
All subsequent orders, even with changes, can be seen at the same cost as the first. And this is not only true for design changes but also whether the orders are even for smaller batches. Eliminates the cost of the modifications in moulds, with which the e-manufacturing in such cases is the ideal solution.
Plastic parts directly
An Italian consortium led by Treviso technology produced a limited edition of a pair of glasses of design using frames produced in PA 2200 on a machine Eosint P 380. Be able to obtain various colors and painting and models be the white frames, using a method based on a film transferred by water, then add standard lenses. The final product was subjected to rigorous testing which showed the product to respond adequately to the demands of the CE mark.
