Ultrasion: moldear micropiezas With ultrasounds
The challenge for the design and development of the machine that incorporates this new technology, baptised with the name of Sonorus 1G, is in the hands of Ultrasion S.L., a spin-off of the Foundation Ascamm that created to develop and commercialise innovative technologies that base in the ultrasounds. In this sense, USM (UltraSonic Molding), is a new technology that pretends to mark a full stop. The process breaks the conventional concept of plastification of the material combining of efficient form a process of warming by ultrasounds —mature technology and very used in the welding of polymers— with a vertical presses of moldeo and technology of mould. For the first time, they delete the traditional systems of thermal sensors warming to substitute them by the application of ultrasounds, mechanical waves of high frequency that agitate the molecules of the polymer of way faster that his own time of relaxation, which translates in a warming of the matter.
This warming allows to diminish the viscosity of the material to such an extent that the material can flow to the cavities of a mould with pressesures very low and in time very reduced.
This technology surpasses some of the limitations that present the technologies of moldeo traditional, like the sobremoldeo of sensitive components to the pressesure, the degradation of materials because of high time of residence or the waste of material by purge of husillo, change of colour or stopped of machine. Between the numerous advantages that offers this new technology with regard to the conventional, stands out the precision in the replication of micro cavities with thin walls and with details of high precision, an energetic consumption very reduced and the prevention to of the degradation of sensitive materials through a very precise control of the window of process. The technology translates in an industrial machine of vertical presses totally electrical and silent with an apt size for the industry.
