Since the beginning of 2005, the company Berstorff, represented in Spain by Coscollola commercial, has its own technical school to perform tests with sheets and plates. In the future, the company will make available to its customers two complete lines so that they can carry out tests. The success that the company is getting from the last fiscal year in the laminate industry, has been decisive in deciding the present structure of the technical school.

Flexible acabadora Calandria

Her first line with double screw extruder technology, will be used for the realization of evidence relating to the production of technical sheets, plates of high quality drawing, sheets with tissue reinforcement or not dry PET sheets. This line, began its activity at the beginning of the month of January gives service to a client who made evidence relating to the production of roof sheeting.

The commissioning of the second line, with a single screw extruder technology, scheduled for this month of April. It will be used primarily for testing in the field of the standard deep drawing sheet, sheets of dried PET as well as evidence for the production of e.g. plates transparent, i.e. PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate) or PC (polivenilo chloride) plates with a high optical value.

The technical preparation of the first line corresponds to Berstorff experience in the sector of the sheets. For more than twenty years the company offers systems and turnkey installations for the production of sheets and plates of high quality. The second line of the new technical school of Berstorff reflects the expansion of the current product portfolio: Berstorff now also covers the sector of the standard deep drawing sheet. This is based on the synergy gained from the kmb seide technology in Buchholz. The components of important machines from the subsidiary of Berstorff, as for example, the technology of finish, will also be used in this installation at the technical school. Especially small and medium-sized manufacturers of standard deep drawing sheets have Berstorff and KMB Seide partners of contact with high competition.

Technology of extruder of double screw plethora for plates of high quality in the range of high-performance

The essential components of the first line are an extruder of double screw plethora ZE 60 to UT, a gear pump, a screen changer, several nozzles wide slot as well as a three cylinder 400/400/400x1.300 acabadora calandria. Flow rate of up to 600 kg/h with a maximum width of sheet of approx. 1000 mm can be achieved

The line works in accordance with the so-called "procedure inline-compound", i.e. the steps of production Compoundizar and extrusion are summarized in a continuum (inline-compound). This are important economic and benefits relating to the technical procedure for example, by the direct machining of cheap raw materials (powders, dusts, cuts, liquids) instead of expensive finished compounds. They can also machine up a 100 per cent of recycled products. Other advantages of the compoundizado inline: the smaller thermal load of the material and the best homogenization ensure an improved quality of the product. Substances of filling and reinforcement can be integrated directly on a large scale.

In addition to the technology of double screw extruder plethora has to highlight the acabadora calandria as another technical peculiarity. The new generation of controls "berstorff process Control advanced" is used as control of the process.
