Andaltec And Indicam set up a project to develop an innovative sumergible for aquaculture
2 April 2013
The Technological Centre of the plastic of Andalucia (Andaltec) and the grenadian company Indicam Technologies have initiated a project of R&D to develop an innovative sumergible destined to his utilisation in the aquaculture. This initiative, designated SUMERGI+TWO and that realises in the frame of the program Feder Interconnecta, will have important technological improvements that will facilitate the realisation of activities under the water, at the same time that they reduce the costs of manufacture and maintenance of this device.
This new underwater vehicle serves to control, execute and loan support in operations of immersion in installations acuícolas. The sumergible is especially designed to join up the sensors and necessary instruments to work in the sector of the aquaculture, but the modulate basic can adapt to other applications, like leisure, tourism, oceanic investigation, rescue or surveillance and control.
This project pretends to improve the systems of communication and information in real time between the distinct elements involved in the execution of works submerged: the base of control the diver and the sumergible. Like this they minimise and even they delete the risks in daily operations, at the same time that they speed up and guarantee the necessary works to develop the activity in the aquaculture. Besides, the initiative looks for to enter innovations in the equipment of diving that use in the activities of the aquaculture.
The director of Projects R&D of Andaltec, Daniel Aguilera, signals that this project supposes a perfect example of collaboration between private companies and technology centres. “The technology centres like Andaltec have the fundamental mission to help to the companies to develop innovative products that help them to stand out and differentiate of the competition. Offer products with a high value added is one of the roads so that the companies can ensure his future”, affirms.
