Nanocontainers, a project of several Centres Fedit that develops active containers with properties barrier and bactericida
19 February 2013
The Technological Centres ITC-AICE (Institute of Ceramic Technology), Aidico (Construction) and Itene (Packaging) work in the development of nanocápsulas inorganic based in a structure of zeolite in whose interior lodge active substances, such as bactericidas or protective against the corrosion.
The Institute of Ceramic Technology (ITC) coordinates the project Nanocontainers. Beside Itene (Packaging) and Aidico (Construction) has worked to join his experience and technology in the development of nanocápsulas in the development of this project. What pretends in this conjoint initiative is to create nanocápsulas inorganic based in a structure of zeolite in whose interior lodge active substances that free of progressive form and contribute properties anticorrosión, bactericidas and/or barrier to the materials that incorporate them.
By means of the use of said nanocápsulas, pretends increase the useful life in service and the efficiency of the products that contain them, being able to control the release of the active substance in function of the external parameters. Another of the aims is to improve the state of the materials when reducing the processes of degradation and loss of properties.
The result are active containers with properties barrier and/or bactericida, or in the case of the construction and ceramic with protective functions against the corrosion, etcetera. Specifically, the contribution of the ITC to Nanocontainers has consisted in the development of ceramic enamels with nanocápsulas of compound bactericidas. They formulated ceramic enamels with distinct proportions of nanocoantainers with the active substance incorporated. Later, the ceramic products were subjected to processes of monococción normal of the ceramic industry, between 1.100 and 1.200 °C.
The essays of activity antibacteriana, realised under Norma JIS Z 2801, showed a remarkable antimicrobic activity.
