The majority of the Spanish companies need to improve his process PLM
The past 16 January IDC and Siemens Industry Software presented in front of the professional presses the results of a recent study on the importance of the innovation in the process of Gestión of the Cycle of Life of the Product (PLM), as well as of his technologies, in the manufacturas Spanish.
The study shows that the Spanish companies try to answer of dynamic form to the difficult economic situation current, ensalzando his competitiveness through the investment in innovation. To achieve it, the Spanish factories are boosting the collaboration so much inside as out of his borders. They think that to improve the effectiveness of the processes of PLM and investigate in relation to his technologies is essential to boost the collaboration and reach his aims.
This study also includes a Model of Maturity —describing the evolution of the PLM in the country— that can be used by the manufactureras to evaluate the state of the processes of PLM, his application and points of reference against his mates. More than 30% of the companies are investing actively in new implementations or updating his existent technological applications. In this improvement the companies find numerous profits for the organisation, the product and the process.
On the other hand, the big majority of companies of discreet manufacture (more than 70%) consider necessary to improve or extend his process PLM in the next two years. 53% of them have put already under way an initiative to half term.
To the appointment attended, among others Joan Francàs, Vice President & Managing Director Spain and Portugal of Siemens Industry Software, the one who did not show surprised by one of the data of the study, as which reduce costs and increase the productivity is the main strategy that will follow the companies in the next two years.
To the question ‘Which thinks that are the main profits that obtain of a process PLM effective?', the most frequent answer was ‘to improve the collaboration between departments and with providers'.
Around all these questions, Francàs signalled that “the level of maturity of the Spanish companies on the concept PLM that shows the study is the clear example of the current situation in Spain. Again the innovation, productivity and strategy are vital in the economic current frame of the companies manufacturers".
