New masterbatches biodegradable with shell of almond

It has initiated a project of development of concentrated of biodegradable colour and medioambientalmente respectful with shell of almond in traditional applications. These masterbatches or concentrated of colour will have like result the implementation of new masterbatches with a natural residue like the shell of almond, on biodegradable polymers processed by means of moldeo by injection in traditional industries like the one of the toy and the auxiliary of the piece of furniture, extensible to other sectors. Both concepts have a big innovative character for the market, since the compounds with these characteristics based in biodegradable plastics do not find in the market.

The meeting of start of the project, coordinated by Aiju and participated by the companies IQAP Masterbatch Group, Injusa and Pérez Cerdá plastics, took place the past 25 October in the installations of Aiju, where established the bases to reach the aims proposed.

Suny Martínez, general coordinator of the project, indicates that the results of this project “will allow the reuse of natural waste of the agricultural sector, diminishing the environingingmental impact of the plastic as well as broadcasts of CO₂”. Besides, with the implementation of these results and his extension in the market “will allow the manufacture of toy and furniture more sustainable and based in biodegradable polymers with shell of almond”.

The project, funded by the program LIFE+, will develop in 3 years.
