Scientific evidences of some microalgas to stimulate the immune system in functional foods

The project Inmugal, led by ainia technological centre and in which they have participated also
Azti-Tecnalito, Tecnalia Research & Innovation and the centre Inbiotec has obtained the first scientific evidences of the application of the
genders of microalgas (Chlorella and Spirulina) like ingredients for
healthy foods oriented to stimulate the immune system.
Although they existed essays that evidenciaban the potential of these microalgas from the immunological point of view, is the first time that scientifically evaluates , with essays of bioactividad of cellular crops and with proofs in fish zebra, his potential effect inmunoestimulante. The project is funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation through the program Profit.
Chlorella And Spirulina are rich in vitamins, sour grasos, essential amino acids and polysaccharides, of here his importance like active ingredient for foods that can reinforce the nutritional lacks of communities deficitarios in defences, such like elderly boys, or in special situations of stress or illness for other populational communities.
The project, that initiated in September of 2009 and finishes to present results, is one of the few investigations that have realised to international level, of application of crops of microalgas for human feeding and aquaculture.
