"It considerably facilitates the complex technology"
The view of Frank Stoelzel, Director of application and projects of CNC, GE Fanuc Europe (Echternach, Luxembourg)
What the main goals of Manual Guide i?
Manual Guide i is designed to allow operators to directly program the machining of a piece of even complex machines. There is no real limit referred to in terms of complexity. While it is not yet possible to schedule parallel kinematic, five axis simultaneous machining is, for example, in phase of development and the 3 + 2 machining axes is now available. Lathes currently supported programming of up to three channels, three turrets and two heads. However, the Manual Guide i not intended in any way replace or compete with the CAD/CAM software. Manual Guide i is considered, rather, as a complement.
How it provides for the future development of the programming software?
In the immediate future, plan to incorporate a higher number of modules of the Manual implementation Guide i, which means that we hope to also include a grinding module.
The philosophy of Manual Guide i dominate more and more in our CNC products, because it considerably facilitates the complex technology. Many tasks are significantly simpler, such as the selection of the correct parameters for machining, especially for high-performance applications, as for example the manufacture of tools and moulds. The fact that the hardware is improving continuously means that we are also able to create a more powerful and intelligent software.
