to>?acsaa and Ainia Technological Centre are developing a project headed to improve the autosuficiencia energetic of a station of depuración of urban waste water (Edar) from the slimes that generates. The project, designated Sludge4Power and that has a length of three years (2011-2014), has like aim improve the sustainability of the process of depuración optimising the generation of power from renewable sources. The project, carried out by the consortium Facsa, (pertaining company to Group Gimeno), and Ainia technological centre, investigates about new technologies based in the digestion anaerobia two-phase of temperature combining the use of ozone with the end of maximizar the obtaining of biogás from the slimes generated by the debuggers of urban waste water (Edars). This biogás will serve like source of power, improving the energetic balance, in concrete, of the Edar of Castelló of the Flat, exploded by Facsa, where develops the investigation.
An Edar works in the depuración of waste water through diverse physical processes, chemists and biological, and this process requires of an important energetic consumption. Like consequence of the treatment of the waters, generate like waste the designated slimes of depuración. The treatment of the urban waste water and of the slimes of depuración generated possesses significant socioeconomic implications given his big volume and high costs of management and treatment.
