Ainia Celebrates a day on labelled in foods

In the New ‘meeting tendencies in the labelled of foods and information to the consumer', organised recently by the technological centre Ainia, have participated José María Ferrer, boss of the department of Legislation of Ainia, Silvia Bathed, of the University Abad Oliva of Barcelona and Sebastián Romero, partner director of Food Law Consultants in Brussels.

The leading subject of the meeting has been the new Regulation on information to the consumer, that will apply from 13 December 2014. Between the points that have concerned more to the assistants of the day of Ainia stands out the nutritional information in the labels, since it will be compulsory to specify this information in the labelled, by what purchases a big importance for the companies. The information of origin is another of the important appearances, since, no only will have to reflect in the label where has been packed a product, but also the origin of the ingredients. On the other hand, continuous without resolving the information that has to contain the label of the destined product to internal transactions between companies agroalimentarias. Like consequence, the distributors of the sector of the feeding do not know how label them.

With the new regulation, the expression “frozen in” will be compulsory for meat, products of fishing no transformed and products cárnicos, whereas the expression “descongelado” will be for products descongelados before the sale, except present ingredients in final product, foods whose freezing is necessary in the production and those in which the descongelación does not have negative impact. Besides, the labels will have to be more accessible to the most greater, so that the lower containers of 80 square centimetres will have to increase the size of his letter in the label.
