Ainia participates in a macro to develop a comprehensive system of traceability in food
Ainia technology centre is involved in a project, selected by the European Commission to be financed within the framework of aid for r & d of the 6th framework programme, which aims to develop a system of innovative traceability for the European food sector enabling more efficient management of traceability and a faster performance with alerts of food safety.
The work of Ainia specific speaking at different work packages of the project. In that regard, he leads the Spanish participation related to food and develops different groups of activities. In addition also it will collaborate in the work of dissemination and promotion of the project, raising awareness throughout Europe the regular results that they are getting. Although the traceability in the food sector (i.e., the control of the food chain, from raw material to final consumption of the product) has been the subject of numerous studies and research in recent years in Europe, in particular as a result of the latest food crisesYet there has been a system that allows its implantation in a generalized way. The objective of this project is, therefore, incorporate new electronic devices and nanosensors minilaboratorios chip, which apply artificial intelligence techniques to analyze the data obtained from the microdispositivos, with the purpose of being an element more than one chain controlled automaticallyto minimize the risks and food dangers.
Among other works, Ainia is the centre responsible for designing the overall research methodology to implement, the diagnosis of companies belonging to different geographic areas and positions within the chain of value agri-food, with the purpose of being an element more than one chain controlled automaticallyto minimize the risks and food dangers. The product will integrate various emerging technologies and will carry out a pilot test of actual implementation in two representative of food chains models: dairy products and tomato (dominant chains in the food sector). A total of 34 technology centres, companies and universities in 12 countries involved in the project: Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Sweden, Turkey, Russia, France Egypt, Finland, England and Ireland. It has an overall budget of EUR 16 million, of which the EC proposes to finance EUR 10 million.
