It creates the first prototype of biodegradable container for cosmetic
7 June 2013
The consortium of companies formed by Germaine of Capuccini, Ferro, Petroplast and the alliance
The prototype has manufactured from pertinent matters of renewable sources, in concrete of starches of corn, beetroot and sugars. Like this, through processes fermentativos and the utilisation of microorganisms, have obtained distinct biodegradable materials with diverse properties that have mixed to form the new biodegradable container.

After two years of investigation, the participants of the project expect that the biotubo obtained turn into organic matter in less than six months, and can be treated in a plant of composting.
The process of biodegradation initiates in contact with microorganisms in conditions of composting, that find in these material source of carbon to live. Of this way poses an alternative to the environingingmental gestión of the waste of cosmetic containers, based at present in the recycled.
This prototype is a flexible container that preserves the properties of the cosmetic cream. Through the combination of distinct biodegradable materials is working for the first time in the challenge that the container perdure during all the long cycle of life of a cosmetic product, estimated in three years.
To his time, has achieved keep the properties of the cosmetic creams, incorporating for this functions that allow to preserve the aroma and protect the product of humidity, avoiding the loss of weight of the product. The biotubo is totally flexible, the same that the conventional containers of creams
The container will contain a selection of compatible natural cosmetics with the bioplástico attained. For this, have analysed products based in active principles of vitamin C; a filter of solar protection and a facial cream multiprotección elaborated from ecological white tea that the company Germain of Capuccini expects to take out to the market in the second semester of this year.
For his creation, have determined the requests of the cosmetics with regard to his material of container, analysing by combination of types of biodegradable materials those more compatible with the requirements of the product.
Later, have llevar proofs to validate the properties of the material, the technology of manufacture and the behaviour of the container in contact with the creams through studies accelerated in conditions of temperature and extreme humidity.
The project, supposes an advance no only by his capacity of biodegradation without environingingmental impact, but for attaining for the first time the total compatibility between this type of containers and the cosmetic products, something no attained up to now.
Biotubo Has the support of the Cdti and is cofinanciado by the European Bottom of Regional Development, Feder.
