Six of each 10 consumers recognise that despilfarran foods in some occasion. The fruit and vegetables are the foods that more throw to the rubbish for 44% of the respondents. On the other hand, for 58%, the main cause of the waste of foods in the homes is due to the fact that they do not take advantage of the sobras. Also it stands out the fault of control in the storage of foods so much in the despensa as in the frigorífico (39%). With reference to the date of caducity and date of preferential consumption, 43% considers that one of the main reasons of the wasteful of foods in the home is that caduquen the foods and those that consider that it has won his date of preferential consumption.

95% of the consumers considers that each one of us of individual way have to realise actions directed to avoid the wasteful of foods. Besides, 86% of the respondents thinks that would have to distinguish to all the establishments that collaborate with banks of foods, associations, social canteens, etc. with some type of stamp distintito.

For 81%, the authorities and institutions have to take urgent and effective measures to avoid the wasteful of foods, as well as informative campaigns headed to clear the concepts of date of caducity and date of preferential consumption. Finally, 73% thinks that it is important that llevar formative actions for the correct gestión of the foods in the home.
