Presentación
The regulator Council of the denomination of origin steppe was established on 21 February 2003 and is officially recognized on September 24, 2004 by the Junta de Andalucía. The Council regulator is fruit of a project's request for a denomination of origin for Virgin olive oils extra of the Comarca of Estepa and Puente Genil, since by its millenary history, tradition and quality, they are globally recognized.
Its main function is to ensure the quality of Virgin olive oil extra produced in the territory and promote them to national and international level.
The denomination of origin steppe is possibly more demanding when it comes to certify a virgin olive oil extra, hence having many of its oils covered national and international awards.
