New Holland SmartSteer

Systems of self-guided for rows: with arms sensors that indicate to the rows of corn

Picture of Systems of self-guided for rows
SmartSteer system uses a laser beam capable of detecting the harvested part of which is without harvesting, works perfectly in conditions of poor visibility, even night.

In combination with the PLM packages of New Holland, the toll will improve the productivity of the crop.

SmartSteer system registers the difference between the time that it takes the laser beam to reflect in the stubble and the product that has not been cut. Using this information, it manages to detect the exact line where the product without cut and sends signals to the steering system, in such a way that the inner edge of the harvester head is guided with precision and reliability along the row of product without cutting. Guided SmartSteer system takes advantage of the width of the head the most.

By comparing the difference in height between the stubble and the product without cutting, system takes control and guide combine in such a way that the head working full to fill in each pass.

CX8000 and CR models, the operator can make laser scanner to detect the edge of the crop the right side or the left side of the head, adjusting it comfortably from the cockpit.

In the CX5000 and CX6000 models, detection can only be performed on the left side of the head. SmartSteer system is installed in the own combine, so it does not depend on the type of head which is mounted.

For corn heads: A simple mechanical system ensures that combine and forage chopper followed the rows of work. Collection is not so difficult when using large heads and high working speeds or when it is harvested in low visibility conditions. This system not only increases productivity, but it also the operator gets tired less, by what remains at full power during the long days of harvest.

Guided based on sensor system: to be placed in front of the row, a few arms with touch sensors continuously measure the deformation of the plastic probes and indicate the position of the tip of the head with respect to the rows of corn. Based on this information, the electronic system of combine controls direction valve and keeps combine in his career while harvesting any type of corn.
