The Pacte Industrial in the metropolitan region of Barcelona celebrates 10 years

During the 11th meeting, the Member entities signed a declaration "for the renewal and the growth of the industrial activity in the metropolitan region"
In what has been its XI meeting of the Consell General, the Pacte has celebrated its ten years of existence noting the evolution of the industrial activity of the area.
At the ceremony, held in mid March in the Palau de Pebralbes de Barcelona, attended by among others the President of the Generalitat, José Montilla, President of the Pacte Didac tab and the President of the Executive Committee of the same, Maravillas Rojo. Statements were also made the Mayor of the city of Barcelona, Jordi Hereu, the President of the Diputació de Barcelona, Celestino Corbacho, President-building work, Joan Rosell, the President of Pimec, Josep Gonzalez, and the General Secretaries of the Union UGT and CCOOJosep María Álvarez and Joan Coscubiela respectively.
In terms of the interventions, it was pointed out that, currently, the metropolitan region is the economic engine of Catalunya, providing 68 per cent of GDP and 72 per cent of the members of the Social Security. Also, the RMB has industrial estates 617, representing a 35 per cent of the of which there are in Catalunya, occupying about 10,000 hectares of industrial land
The Declaration was signed after the parliaments and the approval of the minutes of the previous meeting, the members of the Pacte "for the renewal and the growth of the industrial activity in the metropolitan region of Barcelona" where manifest the will and commitment to working to achieve greater competitiveness and social cohesion. "The Pacte was born and wants to remain a point of encounter and consensus to discuss, analyze and propose new tools, methodologies and activities to develop the potential of the industrial sector in the RMB, guaranteeing to be vertebren and industrial promotion policies to apply to the territory and the local world."
