Yaskawa Increases until 25% the saving of power for his industrial robots Motoman
3 September 2012
In the fair Automatica of Munich, Yaskawa presented new concepts for the saving of power, that aúnan in a series of measures with an optimum design of the robot, concepts of turned off intelligent and recovery of power.
The result is a saving of power of until 25%. The requirements of power of a robot determine no only by the design of the manipulador, but also by the design of the application, of the controller and of the system. What more vary the individual parameters, more possibilities there is of potential saving. Even isolatedly, the application of concepts of turned off intelligent during the pauses of the operation, for example the weekends, can cause until 15% of saving of power by means of the turned off of the systems of orderly form.
The design of the robot offers still greater savings of power: Yaskawa has observed that in a line of typical production, 40% of all the robots could have been selected at least a smaller size, resulting in an energetic saving of 8%. The solutions of Yaswaka allow a greater density of robots and time of cycle faster by cell, using robots smaller.
Greater savings of power can obtain by means of the use of light robots. Select a smaller robot no only saves power, but it also improves the times of cycle. For example, remplazando a robot of 250 kg by a robot of 80 kg that has been designed for a specific application, can attain until 25% of saving of power and a reduction of 20% in the time of cycle.
In the fair Automatica, Yaskawa exhibited a cell that showed how the excessive use of power in the brake can play a key paper. Through the intelligent activation of the way generator in the servos, the power of braked can recover and be stored, or given back to the main network. A previous requirement is the perfect interaction of all the components, that is guaranteeed by the extensive technology in robotics and accionamientos of Yaskawa.
