A fair to confirm

A version qualified on what happened at the EMO in regards technologies, is that of Fatronik, which went to the fair an important team of professionals. This article sets out the main conclusions drawn by Fatronik from a visit to the search for new features.

The fair has been the applicability to the machines of the technological developments that have been showing in previous exhibitions in a shy manner, and which are now widely spread. According to the various people of Fatronik consulted by MetalUnivers, has not been any spectacular technological development, as a result of basic research to highlight new developments.

Although no significant developments have been appreciated, however we can talk about the confirmation of a number of trends which had been observed.

On the one hand, confirms industrial machining application at high speed, especially on milling machines and machining centres, although there is still the need to advance accuracy and availability/reliability.

It was also detected the proliferation of multiaxis milling machines and machining centres, either by integrating 1 or 2 turns in the head, 1 or 2 turns at the table, or 1 in the head and the other at the table. "Torque engines" facilitate the integration of heads and rotary tables, and appear in numerous applications.

Another observed trend is the launch of multi-purpose machine for machining piece Aeronautics and mold, where the difference lies in the head. Thanks to the solutions of change of head (Pick - up), one machine is versatile 100%

Was also detected a greater presence of multifunctional machines, in two lines; milling machines with possibility of lathe and lathes with possibility of milling in particular the proliferation of solutions type Integrex (torno+fresadora), which highlights the machines of Japanese manufacturers (Mazak, Okuma...)

Following the trends in technology, it has become to observe the implementation of ICT solutions from the major manufacturers and has confirmed the massive use of headsets twist in aerospace machining, and conventional headsets in roughing combining with twist to finish in the mold industry. There is also a poor use of orthogonal head.

From the strategic point of view, there is the growing presence of machines of low cost and high-quality, mainly Hindu, Korean, and Chinese manufacturers incorporating exclusive technologies so far of the most leading manufacturers. In Fatronik they think that a technological gap between European and Asian manufacturers there is already.

It should be noted that manufacturers Italian, close to the Spanish in the technological aspect, so far have however made a leap. It is likely that this leap is not reflected commercially, but the technological advance over Spanish manufacturers is palpable.

Also the aesthetics of the machines is becoming increasingly more important, but still it is not taken into account for the majority of Spanish manufacturers, with exceptions such as Ona or Nicolás Correa.

In this issue of Metalunivers, as well as the special for the EMO, distributed at the fair, and from this magazine stand, is a comprehensive review by a number of products exhibited at the fair. However, it is interesting to know the point of view of the specialists of Fatronik on significant stands. This is the case of Mori Seiki, who presented new a series of machines DCG (driven at the center of gravity), designed so that the drives are always placed in the vertical centre of gravity of the moving mass on which act, or the CDG, which lies between two equidistant drives (twin drive) in the same plane in such a way that will avoid the moments created by the displacement of the center of gravity. Tilting tables abound, and are in small size single arm.

The most interesting novelty in the stand of Haas Automation was the incorporation of the table tilting the machine VF 6, submitted at previous winning fairs well 5 axis. Haas, has also expanded its range.

The great novelty of Ona is the aesthetic renovation of its machines, without bodywork, with the structure of melt pool (designed in collaboration with Fatronik). Also note, once again, care and proper design of the stand. On the aesthetic side, say from Fatronik, are a reference.

Mazak presented a stand with 11 new machines. Among them include: the two added in the Integrex series "and" 5-axis; on the one hand Integrex "and" 800V/5 with 1100 courses, 800, 900, 150 °, 360 ° (X, Y, Z, B, C) head 15kw to 12000rpm, 50 m/min and by another Integrex "and" 1060V/8 with courses 1875, 1060, 1345, 150 °, 360 ° (X)(, Y, Z, B, C) head 37kW 10000 rpm, 40 m/min.

Also drew attention to the Mazak Super Mold Maker 2500 II. The Super Velocity Centre 2000L model with linear motors, is presented as a machine designed for the aviation industry; 3048, 510, 510 (X, Y, Z) head 15kw at 12000 rpm, speed 120 m/min in X and 50 m/min in Y, and Z. And 0.5g in each axis accelerations.

Okuma presented a lathe LB200-V1CAM with linear motors to 5 g and on the other hand a PKM, the PM-600. (already known)

Chiron exhibited a machining center with parallel kinematics in the axis X and and, and the Z Cartesian; with two linear motors on each axle, and an acceleration of 30 m/s2 in each axis (interpolated 5.2g). There is the possibility of mounting table tilting powered"torque".

Mikron introduced what they call a "Center of machining to ultra-high speed". It is the 400 XSM with courses from 400, 450, 350 mm (X, Y, Z), 25 m/s2 acceleration and speeds of 80 m/min in each axis.

Booth Parpas highlighted the "Estrema" belonging to the Group OMV company Parpas. At first glance, it draws attention to his appearance and finishes. In MCM stake the "JETFIVE", a machine architecture identical to the Menphys which was devised in Fatronik to Zayer. It offers multiple configurations, linear motors or drives with spindles; head twist or conventional and different configurations of the tables. The head Twist turn 22,000 grad/min (a-C axes) 75 kW and 200 Nm. With linear motors fast speed is 70 m/min. The "LinX Blitz" of Jobs is a machine gantry linear motors of 5-axis (head twist), with a workload of 4 m 3. It offers the possibility of change in head (pick-up), by one conventional roughing.

On the other hand, it is the first time that the PKM machines have a specific classification. This shows that they continue their way but still a small niche. There were a total of 16 manufacturers offering machines PKM and 4 suppliers of components for machines PKM.

Fourteen of these companies have to do with the European MACH21 project led by Fatronik or its partners.

The components include the large number of engine torque, and their direct applications, such as headsets twist, rotary tables and tilting tables. An example might be INA, that in its catalog offers these engines and even turntables with torque motors.
