Messe Stuttgart presents the fair AMB 2004

Messe Stuttgart has presented AMB, the annual international fair of machine, which will meet from 14 to 18 September 2004. During the month of February, already were 700 companies registered for the next edition, which altogether provides for bringing together more than 900 exhibitors. With more than 20 years of life, the WBA has been a true showcase of the market of the machine and the tools of precision in the region of the South of Germany.

About 20 percent of the exhibitors come from that they will meet will be from abroad. So far, Nineteen countries, including Spain are represented. Fourteen flags of the fairgrounds are occupied, in total more than 50,000 square meters of gross exhibition area. More than 50,000 professional visitors from 40 countries are also expected.

At the fair, exhibitors present innovations and new developments of the technique of measurement and the assurance of quality, robotics, the technique of manipulation of parts and tools, software solutions, software and peripheral systems, as well as components, accessories and construction groups.

To these are added the construction of vehicles, automotive and supply industry, machine building, EBM industry, the electroindustria, the construction of tools and moulds, the industries Aeronautics and Astronautics and other sectors that employ high-tech machines.

They are represented numerous countries with major companies in their respective markets, such as machine CME, Danobat, Anayak, Amada, Agie Charmilles, Boehringer Werkzeugmaschinen, Deckel Maho Gildemeister, EMCO Maier, Mori Seiki, Huron, Gühring, Komet, Mapal or Iscar, among others.

The range of the AMB exhibition focuses on three sectors: machine tools with start of swarf and swarf detachment, as well as precision tools.

An exhibition with a series of conferences on the theme "Potential for rationalization of high speed machining" are planned for the AMB 2004. Also offer cycles of conferences of partners of the Institute of management of the production, technology and machine tool (PTW) of the your Darmstadt, of Uni Stuttgart, from the NC society of implementation of new technologies and the mac technical magazine. Following the success of the contest the "Turner of the year", carried out for the first time in the last AMB, will be repeated in this second edition. The objective of this competition is to publicize the profession of high technology of the Turner in a time of ever more specialized technicians lack.

The capital of Baden - Württemberg, Stuttgart, which hosts the fair, is a very familiar with the high-tech region. Not in vain already in 1999, she was elected as the first European region linked to the technology. Numerous companies of international renown such as DaimlerChrysler, Kodak, HP, IMB, Trumpf, ABB, Audi, Porsche, Bosch and many more have their headquarters in this land.

The construction of vehicles produces a quarter of all industrial sales, 19% machine building and electro-technology/mechanics of precision/optical 16%. In the areas of machine building, construction of vehicles, the manufacture of metal products and in the electrotechnical works a 71 per cent of all employees of the Baden - Württemberg-producing industry.

The land also concentrated manufacturers. Almost half, about 44.2 per cent of all manufacturers of machine tools are located in Baden - Württemberg, Germany. These generate a 53.2 per cent of all German production of the sector. While in the year 2002, there were machine tools 2.02 million euros in the United States.United States, the value of the region stood at 3.83 billions of euros, being therefore almost twice. Of all production, almost 60 percent goes to export. Currently, the most important resource of the land is, therefore, the sector of research and development, which every year is intended almost 4 percent of gross domestic product. This contribution is higher r the German media, but also to that of Japan, United States.United States or Great Britain.

During 2004, will be built in the capital of Baden - Württemberg, a new fair exhibition centre which will consist of nine halls, among them a bloated Pavilion, as well as an International Congress Centre with more than 30 rooms with capacity up to 3,000 people. Once completed, it will offer an area of 100,000 square meters exhibition, double the available so far. He is expected that the new campus will open its doors in late 2006, early 2007 at the latest.

The VDW (German machine tool manufacturers association) has an increase in the production of 4 per cent to 9.2 billion euros for the current year. The previous year, the German machine tool builders had to cope with a decline of 8 per cent to 8.8 billion euros.

With a rate of 21 per cent, Germany continues to occupy the first international position in the production of machine tools, ahead of Japan and Italy. The optimistic estimate for 2004 is based primarily on the positive developments of the important regions of sales that are Asia and North America. On the other hand, the important market of Western Europe is still below the average for many years in entries of orders. The export share is only 60 per cent. In 2002, Spain was at number nine of Germany's export of machine tool in total. The Spaniards also play an important role in imports. Here they are also at number nine.

German manufacturers of precision tools are also optimistic about the year 2004. Expected an increase in sales of around 2 per cent to 7.85 billion euros. Last year, sales were approximately 7.7 billions of euros, which accounted for an increase of around 1 per cent with respect to the previous year, according to internal surveys conducted by the Professional Association of precision tools in the VDMA (German Association for the construction of machinery and installations). The complete industry of precision tools covers chip startup tools, clamping tools, manufacturing, measuring and testing techniques and build tools. With this result, according to data from the sector, it has broken a new record sales. With the exception of the year 2002, sales have increased every year. Due to its leading position in technology, the tools of precision "Made in Germany" took a great interest around the world. With an export share of almost 50 percent and a share in world trade more than 21 percent, the German precision tools are leaders at the international level. Spain was also at number nine of the major exporting countries.
