Overall satisfaction after the first edition of Protodesign
In the three days that has remained open Hall, more than 70 exhibitors in more than 40 booths have shown the latest scientific and technological developments in the most varied fields linked to the approach and development of new industrial products.
So, have been present firms specialized in engineering, design, development of applications for design and industrial development; along with others dedicated to the auxiliary industry or development and machining of patterns and prototypes.
Generate expectations
For its part, Manuel Martínez Toran, Member of the Organizing Committee of the salon, explained that "this first edition of Protodesign do not expect large numbers of movement at the level of business but expectations." "Valencia still did not have a reference exhibition of this kind and now that it has we are beginning to see that there was more demand than we thought." On the other hand, must be borne in mind that "at the moment in Spain we cannot speak of a large sector of engineering design, still".
International Congress
Sunday Ochoa was excited by the response to these days, and claimed that the objective "to promote access for professionals and SMEs to the knowledge and techniques that make up the vanguard in the field of industrial development of new products" had been achieved.
The conclusions of the Congress include, in the words of the Professor of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and moderator of one of the working groups, Emilio Iribarren, "the importance of the innovation of new technologies in the process of product development"Since, as has been said in a speech: 'not innovate means age' "."
The Congress consisted of eight round tables or discussion forums that grouped about five papers each, as well as the inaugural speech by the leader of development of product in Ford Europe, Malcolm Thomas. Congress was also endorsed by Ford - went the Ford Spain Manager, Antonio Adés - and major businesses (Ona, Alstom, Gamesa...), technology centres (Ideko, Tekniker) and associations (Aimme, Aimplas...).
Applications of new materials, which dealt with plastics and metal alloys, participated in the discussion forum between other Dupont and Aimplas.
Forum advances in technologies for prototyping, where exposed Protomold, Aimme, and Eos, amongst others, presented the possibilities of rapid prototyping and its applications, in addition to the e-manufacturing using Laser sintered.
There was also a forum dedicated to the software grouped to Protorapid, Abgam, EASA and Moldflow, dealing with all stages of the management of the life cycle of a product and where even presented a practical example of implementation in the EFSA firm.
Closely associated with it, the forum for management of life cycle of products, which tried to broader aspects of ecodesign and the legal protection of industrial design. For its part, Control and management of the product focused on the management of concurrent engineering and integrated solutions.
There was also a forum focused on machining, with a luxury table formed by Ramón Bueno (Tekniker), Javier Aranceta (Ideko), Josep Tornero (UPV) and Xavier Maidagan (Ona EDM) and one based on technologies of design of moulds and dies. Gamesa and Alstom were the protagonists of the forum dedicated to the development of new products in sectors with high technological value
