Nestlé Chooses openSAFETY like standard of security for machines of packaging

The big international companies like Nestlé, base in a flexible selection of machines of different manufacturers. By what find that, the majority of the manufacturers of machinery, have opted by a platform of specific automation, what means that each user that installs different types of machines, needs to integrate the different systems of control and of bus in a line. The most important providers of automate-ción for Nestlé, between which include Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric and B&R, use Profinet, Ethernet / IP, Sercos III and Powerlink in his respective controlled-animal. At present, a team of engineers of Nestlé, in Switzerland, is preparing a pilot proof, in a line of packaging, in collaboration with these companies. The point more impor-tante of this proof, is the development of an independent solution of standards específi-cos, to integrate different systems of control thanks to the open communication.

The project has two main aims: in the first place, create a specification for machines of packaging in accordance with the PackML packed in language of machine. PackML Is a guide for open architectures, the modular automation specified by the group of users Omac (Organisation for the automation of machines and of control), whose model of state establishes an integrated system of all the ways of operation in the machines of packaging. With this base, the team will develop the standard libraries for each system of control and will be put to disposal of the manufacturers of machines at the end of the project. Second, Nestlé enters the norm of security based in openSAFETY, that is independent of the controller and of the system of buses, and that allows the free exchange of information related with the security, between the machines and safe systems of different manufacturers.
