Be able to design a precise model of a machine or of a system is essential to achieve a good simulation. At the same time, identify all the dynamic characteristics of a machine requires long. “The tools of modelado of physical systems like MapleSim of Maplesoft offer an optimum support and a considerable reduction of time and work”, says Philipp Wallner, Global Technology Manager of B&R.

The open architecture of Automation Studio, that is the software of programming and of development of B&R, allows of simple way the transfer to an automaton of the models of physical systems designed with MapleSim. The result is a simulator ‘hardware-in-the-loop' that emulates the behaviour/behavior of the machine in real time in some surroundings of proofs totally reliable.
“Using MapleSim, the users of Automation Studio can develop of fast way and very precise models of a plant that allow them analyse/analyze his dynamics and afterwards generate the optimum code for the simulation of the plant in real time, ” explains Laurent Bernardin, vice-president of the department of R&D of Maplesoft. “Adding a simple phase of modelado of the system, the engineers will be able to increase notably the possibility to realise/realize previous proofs to the implementation with real hardware. A clear form to reduce the costly errors in the design.”
The narrow collaboration between the two companies guarantees the optimum integration inside the software Automation Studio, a clear definition of the procedure to be followed and a support on a long-term basis for the user.
