Servo energy saving

B & R allows dimension servo very accurately using the tool ControlEng Servosoft. This indicates the most suitable servo to move the total of the mass of the system, which allows to minimize energy consumption.
For more complex machines where movements are executed continuously, the kinetic energy tends to dissipate in the resistance of brake in the form of heat. Up to 30% of the energy used to generate movements can be saved if connect Acoposmulti servo that share the bus continues. In this way, the braking energy is stored in capacitors and can be consumed in the next acceleration process. User not only gets away with due to the efficient use of energy, but it also gets an optimization in the electrical panel cooling system that significantly reduces the heat dissipated by the resistance of braking.
The regeneration of active energy-saving up to 80 %
In those cases where the braking and Acceleration do not occur simultaneously in a set of axes, it is possible to obtain an increase in energy efficiency through the regeneration of the active energy in power supplies. Thanks to the reuse of braking energy, the inevitable friction persists as the only loss of energy. With the use of modern systems of Acoposmulti drive, it is possible to regenerate profitably until 80% of the energy that previously dissipated as heat in the braking resistors.
Another important measure of saving energy by B & R is the use of plates of cooling type cold-plate in the electrical panel. This allows to use the energy dissipated due to the loss of heat from the servo where necessary through the movement of a fluid and a heat exchanger.
"A great advantage of the use of the technology of cooling type cold-plate plates is the absence of additional cooling systems in the electrical panel, which allows savings of up to 23%," says Alois Holzleitner.
Another measure that favors energy saving with the use of the products of Acoposmulti is (FDP) power factor correction to 1.0. While the conventional inverters with a small FDP have a power consumption considerably greater, and therefore some unnecessary losses due to the start-up of the sources of food and transformers, the Acoposmulti power supplies ensure that energy is used efficiently. "This allows savings of up to 50% of the infrastructure costs by reducing the size of the cables, fuses and food components", explains the director of the Motion of B & R Department.
