Antoni Marsal, re-elected President of Unió Patronal Metal·lúrgica

Antoni Marsal has been revalidated his post as head of the employers of the Unió Patronal metal·lúrgica metal that represents, through its companies associated directly or by guilds and associations, more than 250,000 workers. In the presentation of this second term, which has no competition, the Board of Directors has also elected to Chairmen and members. Joaquim Boixareu continues ostentado Vice-President first. As representatives of sectoral and territorial entities, the Board has chosen Francesc Balague and Manuel Rosillo respectively.

Goals for the next four years, according to Marsal, will continue to be the strengthening of the sector of the Catalan Metal and their companies, in a context characterized by three phenomena: the crisis and its impact; the transformation of the sector; and the implementation of a new production model in Catalonia in a possible new political framework. Marsal has referred in his speech to the basic lines which will continue to work as a greater transparency of the employer, as well as the impetus to relations with trade unions, public administrations and political parties. It had also stressed the need to strengthen the UPM institutionally to consolidate its specific weight in Confemetal CEOE, and continue to contribute to the positive progress of Foment del Treball. Another of its objectives will be the continue with the work of bringing the sector and to consolidate the Unió Metal·lúrgica de Catalunya as representative of the Catalan metal. All this, of course, without ceasing to continue responding to the needs of companies and entities of the Metal.
