Germans Boada automates its central stores

germans boada, S.A. just to start a new automated warehouse in the logistics centre of Santa Oliva del Penedes (Tarragona). After a significant investment and an expansion of the warehouse, the new facilities include a system composed of a combination of miniloads, racking and STV (Sorter Transfer Vehicle) that allow the management of small items both high-volume with a high speed.

Miniload area has a capacity of close to 6,000 containers, while the racking accept around 3,000 pallets. The so-called Sorter Transfer Vehicles are independent units of automated internal transport of goods between the different areas of the system with a speed of 200 meters per minute, which ensures a high overall efficiency and a significant reduction of the total order preparation time.
