Interview with Cristóbal Vela, responsible for application of plastic for Division of ABB on Spain robotic
It is already customary to take for granted that in Europe (and Spain) the automation in the plastics industry is already an obligation. This claim, do there is actually in demand for robots of this industry?
Interest in automation is dormant, but in the case of the anthropomorphic robot step carried out by the final customer is a priori more risky and therefore still costing entering the market where the linear robots have a greater presence. However, and due to competitive prices and greater versatility, this trend, in my opinion, has to change gradually.
Does plenty of room in Spain for the sale of robots in the plastics industry?
In line with the previous reply, with regard to the anthropomorphic robots have a long way to go in Spain.
There is room to improve the robots? What technical characteristic is your company focusing to make improvements? (speed, accuracy, cost reduction...).
Of course. We focus on speed, cost reduction, the realization of less bulky mechanical or graphical programming interfaces to facilitate programming. Also in the controls to the simple addition of peripherals such as House of vision, vibrators of parts, etc.
