Innovation in the nautical sector
After two years of work, from the CODE project (Curing polyester resins On DEmand) has been developing a system that allows to adapt the microwave technology to the boating, thereby improving manufacturing processes, that they become independent of external conditions.
This innovative technology will be a breakthrough for the sector from the technical point of view that there is currently no economically viable method to be able to manufacture, applying temperature, ships and other large polyester components. Its manufacture is being conducted at room temperature, which presents substantial limitations by dependence on environmental conditions, the long duration of the process, and the emission of hazardous substances.
This new system allows to increase the degree of intermingling of materials, improving the technical features of vessels. In addition, thanks to the microwave will reduce the time and resources needed for its construction.
Other significant advantages of this technology are the minimization of the emissions of hazardous substances and the improvement of working conditions of workers in the sector.
19as International Conference on composite materials
In addition to its participation as an exhibitor, Aimplas will work as a sponsor of the 19as International Conference on composite materials organized by the Centre Spanish of plastics during Expoquimia and Equiplast next 22 and October 23, 2008.
This technical meeting is one of the most important events in Spain reinforced plastics and Composites, and one of the main points of the meeting of professionals in this sector.
Aimplas participates in this event with a presentation on RTM-Light and infusion: development of expert systems for the optimization of processes of obtaining of composites.
