Fagor Automation opens its new technological facilities of opto-electronics

fagor automation has officially opened its new technological facilities of opto-electronics, in a ceremony presided by the Lehendakari of the Basque Government, Juan Jose Ibarretxe, and by the President of the General Council of MCC, Jesus Catania. Engraved glass that is used in the systems of catchment or encóders occurs in these facilities and manufactured the encoders, linear and Rotary for automation and control systems. The complex also includes a logistics center automated and Roboticized, serving the three production plants for Fagor Automation in Usurbil, Eskoriatza and Mondragón.
The investment, comprising buildings and production equipment, has risen to 15 million euros which, by their highly innovative character, has benefited from aid from the provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, in the Center for technological development and Industrial (CDTI), the Basque Governmentthe Central Administration and MCC. Historically, innovation has been a differential element of Fagor Automation, which has gone from 10 to 12 per cent of its sales, currently occupying at 21% of the total workforce.
Fagor Automation, which last year celebrated its 25th anniversary, is the only national company dedicated to the development and manufacture of products for automation and control of machinery, mainly for the machine tool sector, being the 2nd manufacturer in the world of optolectrónicos of measurement devices5th in control systems numerical and leader of its sector in Spain. This exercise provides check-EUR 65 million, 18% more than in 2005, of which 80% will correspond to international sales, aimed primarily at China, Taiwan, Brazil, United States, Italy and Germany.
