47% Of women devoted his leisure time to gardening, while 56% of men prefer the DIY
47% Of Spanish women prefer to spend their leisure time a hobby like gardening, while the male sector more opts for work related with DIY. These are the most prominent emerging from the study that Cutman, tool line of DIY and gardening of the Germans Boada group, has commissioned from Ipsos on the habits of the Spaniards in relation to these two sectors. The research has focused on detecting the degree of penetration of gardening and DIY in the Spanish population as a whole. Together with this, and specifically in the autonomous regions of Catalonia, community of Madrid, Valencia, Andalusia and country Basque, analysed the habits of realization of gardening and DIY, as well as the purchase and use of tools. In the study include the autonomous community of Andalusia (76%), the fork of age 35-44 years (67%) and the upper class (68%) as the more amateur and assets in the two tasks required. According to Ipsos, the main motivation is the own personal hobby, but there are also differentiating motifs, such as relaxation linked to the garden and the cost savings in connection with the DIY tasks. On the other hand, in Catalonia is greater predisposition (35%) to dedicate more time during the next year to DIY and gardening tasks. In addition, the study also shows that last year, every consumer has spent an average of 80 c in garden tools and 145c in DIY supplies.
