Aimplas Will obtain bioplástico from the forestry waste used in the biorefinerías

The
The project, that began the past month of November has a length of three years and half and in him participate together with Aimplas the company of Tarragona Ecopol Tech, the German company of renewable energies WIP, the Institute IFU of Hamburg, the biotecnológica Portuguese Biotrend, the Norwegian refinery Borregard and the University of Lund of Sweden, under the coordination of the Foundation Novo Nordisk of Denmark for the Biosostenibilidad. In an initial phase, are realizar the studies of laboratory by part of the university centres. Once they complete these works, will arrive the turn of the Spanish partners and will be Ecopol Tech and Aimplas those who will obtain the biopolymers and will analyse his main characteristic for later manufacture it in a scale of pilot plant. But the project also has foreseen to carry the development until his last phase, the commercial, and will be the biorefinería Borregard the attendant to carry out the industrial implementation and the commercialisation.
At present, the biorefinerías of second generation allocate 20% of the biomass that use like prime matter for the obtaining of bioetanol. 80% remaining are waste that valorizan in shape of biogás and to produce power. However, thanks to this European project, pretends give a high value added to this waste when transforming them in biopolymers. The result will be a new material manufactured in 50% from renewable sources as it is the case of the forestry biomass, pertinent waste of the tala and the poda that ferment with yeast of beer. Thanks to this renewable origin, the new resultant biopolymers will have reduced 50% the dependency of the fuels fossils. With them they will manufacture plastic like the polyurethane and the polyester, bioadhesivos and coatings or film for the sector of the packaging.
