Betelgeux Follows insisting in the importance to control the Listeria Monocytogenes
140 assistants of 85 different companies gathered in Madrid with the aim to find solutions to the problematic of Listeria Monocytogenes. Between the assistants to the act found , among others, technology centres, universities, stood out alimentary industries and personnel of the Ministry, that could listen in first person the technicians of control, prevention, extinction and detection of the bacterium.
The day Listeria Monocytogenes: biofilms and persistence in alimentary industries is one of the most important in the field of the fight against the bacterium.

Control and warn the Listeria Monocytogenes
The first report of the afternoon ran to charge of Pedro Pozuelo of the department of Services to the Customer of Betelgeux, which spoke on how control biofilms in alimentary industries. Pozuelo showed real cases in which it applied TBF 300 in places of difficult access and plants of processed of fish, in which evidenciaba the efficiency of this method of fast and visual detection of biofilms.
On the other hand, Luis María Galician, general director of the Group Analyses Quality, spoke on some of the strategies that can set up with the aim to warn the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in alimentary industries and can control it. Between the crowd of factors that promote the growth of Listeria monocytogenes, Luis Mª Galician explained that it is vital the control of appearances like the providers of raw materials, the manipulation of the products, the hygienic design of the installations, in addition to the set up of plans of higienización specific in front of specific problems.
Justo before the rest, Juan José Canet, deputy director of the Department of Services to the Customer of Betelgeux, realizar a report with appearances very practical, centred in how realizar a correct cleaning and disinfection for the control of Listeria in alimentary industries. Canet Showed the advantages that offers the disinfection by aerial road through fumígenos or by nebulización for the zones of difficult access in the industries.
New methods of detection and extinction
Sonia Carries, technician of the Laboratory of Bioensayos of Ainia, explained the problematic associated to the presence of Listeria monocytogenes inside the alimentary industries and the possible solutions that can arrive to implement . It carries recalcó that “the traditional technicians of sampling are in road of extinction” and presented innovative methods like the Challenge Test to know if a specific product favours the growth of Listeria. It carries also it spoke of fast detection of Listeria, doing quotation to the project that develops Ainia jointly with Betelgeux and other European partners.
Before finalising the turn of reports, took the word Enrique Orihuel, adviser delegated of Betelgeux, to expose the last strategies of control of Listeria monocytogenes. According to words of Orihuel: “Our purpose is to offer solutions in hygiene to the problem of our customers and, thus, have decided to organise this technical day in Madrid in front of a bacterium that is generating big worry in the alimentary industry. In Betelgeux continue working to achieve create products increasingly efficient, improving the investigation and the innovation like engine that allow us keep growing like company and advance us to the new tendencies in cleaning and disinfection”.
