MSR range of drives for torneado-fresado tables updated
The MSR range radically simplifies the system of mechanical transmission of the dishes of torneado-fresado of large size, making the most compact machine, at a time which is substantially improved performance and accuracy. Redex has again consolidated its position in the manufacture of innovative drive of machine tool solutions that enable manufacturers to simplify the design, use and maintenance.
Redex will present in the next edition of the EMO a design update of the MSR range of drives of torneado-fresado of large tables, utilising the latest generation of numerical (such as Fanuc or Siemens) controls. The MSR drive consists of two identical gear boxes (TwinDrive system) that share the torque (50% - 50%) during operations of turning. With the help of the CNC, which manages a system master-esclavo, system is able to eliminate 100% of the clearance. In this way, through the use of two engines, the MSR range allows to achieve very precise positioning of the function of 'C-axis', without the need for any additional mechanical device, being able to carry out the work of interpolation and most demanding positioning (milling, drilling, reaming, etc).
Machinery fabricators multitask (multitasking) so have a unique commercial solution in dishes of torneado-fresado drives. Historically, manufacturers of tables of turning used 2 types of different drives when required the function of axis C: a main drive for operations of turning driven by a motor's oversized head and a pre-loaded axis gear box to bypass the slack for mode C axis, which needed to be overpowered and off the Crown and the main drive connected in deadlock mode to be dragged.
Redex MSR solution radically simplifies the design of mechanical transmissions of tables of turning. It eliminates the need to develop a gear box full and high cost that incorporates a complicated system of clutch/release with the Crown. In addition, a solution with two engines lowers cost with respect to a single motorization of great power, since they come also into play sizes of regulators. Thus, instead of using a single head of 160 kW engine, for example, the MSR uses two 80 kW engines with their corresponding smaller controllers. On the other hand, the management of spare parts and service is simplified with the use of smaller engines. On the other hand, eliminating the need to manage the manufacturing of C-axis gearboxes own or its auxiliary components.
When the diameter of the turntable or the workpiece is large or the piece has cantilever, conventional kinematics used to use different stages in 1/1 relation with the sole aim of separating the drive of the plate or column of the machine to avoid interference. This generates high costs and a significant loss of performance. Kinematics with MSR allows drive to be located just under the turntable directly engaged with the Crown.
The renewal of the design includes a new range of compact and reliable speed changer, as well as a new lubrication system. The external appearance has also been improved, providing a modern design in line with the rest of components used in machine tools. Supplied as a separate subset, this integrated and compact system is ready to be implanted. Depending on mounting in the machine layout, design engineers can have a solution of conical box as an option without change of ranges. The new range improves the characteristics of the 4 available sizes, MSR330 - MSR640 - MSR650 - MSR660, with a capacity of torque on the output from 2.000/4.000 Nm (2 x 40 kW engines) shaft to 9.000/18.000 Nm (2 x 100 kW engines) with 3 possible combinations of reduction, 7, 66 & 2, 9, 88 2 and 11, 49 & 3. This solution, combined ratio pinion/Crown around 10 or 15, provides pairs in the turntable from 200,000 up to 270,000 Nm and global reduction relations (gearbox + Crown gear) 77/20 and 172/45, thus covering any demand of turning dish large market.
