New centre of excellence in disks with integrated palettes
MTU Aero Motors Trusts GF AgieCharmilles for his new centre of excellence
The manufacturer of motors for German aeroplanes MTU Aero Motors has inaugurated a new centre of excellence in disks with integrated palettes (blisks). His new building in Munich boasts to have one of the parks of machinery more advanced of the world that includes a wide range of milling machines of
The centre of excellence in blisks of MTU opened his doors around the middle of April, after a phase of construction and installation that lasted 20 months. The blisks, components of high technology that aúnan in an alone piece the disk and the palettes, are increasingly used in the motocompresores modern. MTU Is one of the manufacturers of blisks more important to world-wide level.
His centre of excellence boasts to have one of the parks of machinery more advanced of the world that includes an increasing number of milling machines Mikron of GF AgieCharmilles. The workshop has of a surface of 10.000 square metres for the production. When it was entirely installed and under way, the workshop will house 20 milling machines, seven combined machines of turning and milling, in addition to 8 machines of measurement of coordinates, allowing to MTU expand his capacity of production from 600 blisks to the year until 3.500 blisks to the year for the 2016.

Following the commitment purchased by GF AgieCharmilles to help to the customers to achieve a greater success, the manufacturer of motors leader in Germany adapted several milling machines Mikron HPM 800Or of high performance to adapt them to the systems of palés and blockade of MTU. The workshop has been designed to lodge until 24 milling machines Mikron like part of the system of flow of work optimised and automated of MTU.
With one of the greater flexible systems of the world for the production of blisks of high and half pressesure, MTU can manufacture numerous ladders of compressesor for commercial and military motors, including the family of motors PW1000G of Pratt & Whitney and his turborreactor commercial PW800, as well as the TP400-D6 of Europrop International that feeds to the aircraft of military transport A4000M.
The main centre of distribution with 96 metres of long —connected to an able central computer to control automatically all the processes anytime— is the core of this concept of flow of work automated. Each component has of a card of route, a number of exclusive request and a chip of identification by radiofrecuencia (RFID) integral.
The number of request, in combination with the data on the availability of the supports, tools and computer-aided programs, will allow to the central computer calculate the loads of work of all the stations of work in the workshops and distribute the components by the available machines through the system of main distribution.
