According to the ITC 29 installations in venues with risk of fire and explosion of the new regulation of low tension RD 842/2003 does necessary the define areas or zones with risk of fire and explosion. Also according to the RD 681/2003, of 12 June, on the protection of the health and the hygiene of the exposed workers to the risks derived of explosive atmospheres in the place of work (Atex 137) is necessary that the employer adopt measured of labour protection that consists in defining the areas or zones with risk of fire or explosion.

The methodology for the classification of zones that has to follow according to the REBT is the indicated in norms JOINS 60.079-10 and JOIN-IN 61.241-10. However the fault of concretion of these norms complicates the task of the classification of zones. For paliar this fault of concretion of these norms in this course will analyse international norms of recognised prestige, like the Guide 31-35 and the Guide 31-56 of the CEI (Committee Electrotécnico Italian) which will facilitate the work of classification of zones. They realised examples of practical application, so much of classification of zones, as of prevention and protection of explosions in equipment and in installations.
