Strawberry of interchangeable head: with a new patented design
Sandvik Coromant launches the BUR of CoroMill 316 interchangeable head with a new design patented, based on a unique link between the hard metal head and the handle of the tool. CoroMill 316 is the first product introduced the new system of interchangeable heads, EH (Exchangeable Head).
The fact that the handle of the tool allows to mount several heads of hard metal gives it great versatility of operation. To make a strawberry of interchangeable head work well we need that the coupling between the head of hard metal and the handle of the tool is reliable and accurate. The performance, security, and the results are directly dependent on the performance of the coupling.
The coupling for interchangeable head is based on a new thread with self-centring's patented. This system keeps the exchangeable head firmly tied axially against the main face of contact, and radially against the cone of subject.
This coupling is exceptional in what regards robustness and management, at the time that offers both the necessary stability for application of cutting of slots, as the high accuracy requiring certain finish operations. CoroMill 316 is equipped with repeatability in axial length of the tool, while its radial eccentricity is limited to a few hundredths of a millimeter.
Combined with the quality of the new generation of chips GC1030, CoroMill 316 is a cutting tool of high-performance, suitable for all the groups of materials ISO P, ISO, ISO K and ISO S. CoroMill 316 is used for surfacing, slotted, milling in Squadron, profiling, contouring and beveled.
With sizes ranging between 10 and 20 mm, it complements the existing programme to offer a first very economical choice, combining the flexibility of the interchangeable plates with the productivity and precision of the hard metal. Applications of this tool can be found in the industries of aerospace, energy, oil and gas, moulds and dies, automotive and machining in general.
