Spindle: with high precision bearings

Picture of Spindle
Chuck Ehaff 930 series has HSK interfaces for nominal sizes from 63 to 160. The tools are a set of fastening with integrated Spring Assembly. The release unit can be hydraulic or pneumatic. The clamping State is controlled by a sensor and recognizes 3 positions. The head is positioned following an encoder integrated axis changing the tool.

High-precision bearings: have very good damping properties and a very good wear behaviour. The concentricity on the tool rest is < 0.002 mm. The proper functioning of the spindles is achieved by a rigid construction and optimum balancing process.

The head can be used in the clockwise direction or in the opposite direction.

The unit is provided of an adjustable induction motor. Outputs of between 20 and 120 kW unit. The head can be used up to its maximum speed with a frequency converter. It is controlled by an integrated shaft encoder. The temperature is controlled by sensors in the motor winding.

The motor is cooled by an integrated cooling circuit separated from the area of the motor winding. The spindle is sealed by a gasket tested with active sealing air. This protects the bearing of the spindle against the dirt. The spindles can be used both in a horizontal and vertical direction.
