Sandvik Coromant has developed the drill CoroDrill Delta-C R846, a new tool for the machining of superallos termoterrestres in applications aeorespaciales, such as the manufacture of shells of gas turbines.
The geometry of the new CoroDrill Delta-C is optimized for the maximum effectiveness in the drilling repeated short. The new cutting edge has a smoother curve that exhibits higher resistance in the outside corners, where shear forces can be maximum in demanding applications. This design distributes evenly the forces of court over the Ridge, which builds a uniform wear without abrupt changes.
