1. Introduction

Although all authors insist on the need to develop systems of planning process assisted by computer (CAPP), they agree as one of its most important deficiencies the low level of generality and flexibility achieved in the existing proposals [1]. One of the consequences of this low generality is, in addition to its low performance domain, low integration achieved with CAD, CAM and PP & C systems [2]. It is also necessary to emphasize the need to allow for a better functioning of the production system, the development of alternative process plans to adapt to the disruption of production.

There are several factors that affect significantly to the achievement of these features, including primarily the methodology of planning, together with the architecture of the system and models of information for the storage of data and knowledge. The consideration of all of them will allow to develop standardized CAPP systems.

2 Results and discussion

This work presents the proposal of a methodology and valid architecture for the generation of the plan of process of machined parts, which refers to the auxiliary processes required in these parts (heat treatment, surface coatings, etc.). And it also enables the development of alternative process plans.

The proposed methodology allows the integration of the planning process for machined parts, with the rest of processes of forming (forging, casting, welding, etc.) applicable to achieve her preform initial.

The proposed architecture has been described not only globally but in detail. For this aim to the functions to be included in the system CAPP, making an appropriate division of labour.

The generality of the system as well as the independence among its functions, is based on the design appropriate information systems. About them given great attention by proposing models of information General and flexible.

The development of general functional procedures, is possible in large part to the models of information. These procedures with the architecture methodology and information models, allow the development of General and flexible CAPP systems.

Finally, is the system GF-CAPP which implemented the proposals of this working, and showing its viability centred on the level of phases.

3 Findings

The proposal made to planning process has as main features the generality and flexibility to the product and the means of production, which give the possibility to be standardized to the widespread industrial implementation. This has been corroborated by the GF-CAPP prototype.
